Realty Market Update
     History
Realty Market Update founder, Paul Evans, left his consulting job in the Spring of 2006. Soon after, he began working with his wife Maria, a broker in Danbury, on a newsletter to promote her business. Part of the newsletter was to be an analysis of the Danbury market with charts and statistics.

After searching for tools to help with the analysis, he found that what was available wasn’t very good. With a background in IT and statistics, he decided to do it himself. So he asked his wife to download listing data from her MLS system, loaded it into a database, and soon began producing results.

In the end, there were a lot more charts than would fit into the newsletter, so he built a simple website to display them and met with realtor friends and acquaintances to demonstrate it. No one had seen anything quite like it and they all thought it would be useful to help understand the market and educate buyers and sellers. So development of the Realty Market Update website began.

After working with CMLS to license the data, the first version of RealtyMarketUpdate.com went online in February, 2007. A substantially improved version was released in April.
